Our history

I'm Omar Sánchez, a Colombian who is in love with the best sport in the world.

For the past seven years, I have devoted my time to a dream: creating a new way to collect and honor baseball legends. The result is a unique card collection that chronicles the careers and achievements of players in a format reminiscent of the exciting trading card albums of soccer, but with the depth that our sport deserves. This venture was born out of love and passion.

Each of these cards has been designed “at home,” not in a boardroom, with completely handcrafted care that is the product of my love for baseball. It is a passion that has been in my blood since I was a child and that I have cultivated through years of reading, research, and study. My profession is petroleum engineering, not graphic design, and that is precisely what makes this project special; it is not the work of a corporation, but the vision of a fan created for other fans.

 

When this idea was born, the plan was to print the cards. Today, embracing the future, the collection begins its history in digital format, with an exclusive launch, for now, in Colombia under the name “o.s Beisbol Cards.”

 

We celebrate the careers and triumphs of our favorite team, not brands; while industry giants like Topps focus on collectibles linked to big brands and franchises, we want to distinguish ourselves by focusing on the athlete and their story. Our purpose is to offer an artistic and narrative tribute to the career, sacrifice, and dedication that define great baseball players. We target collectors who seek authenticity and a deeper connection with the idols who have left an indelible mark.

 

It is a dream that grows with every collector. Today, my dream begins to come true as I officially present this project to you. But its true potential will be realized when we form a large community of fans. I invite you to be part of it, to share knowledge, interact, and, together, take this collection to the next level. My commitment is firm: as the project grows, a portion of the profits will be allocated to supporting people and animals in need through a foundation.

 

The “o.s Baseball Cards” universe starts with 12 categories that explore the history of great baseball players, currently totaling 1,048 collectible cards (524 dedicated to players and 524 to their traditional statistics and achievements). This journey would not have been possible without the unconditional support of my wife Amparo and the technical and creative development of the digital presentation by designers Rubén D. Rojas and Luz M. Camacho from “Logosapiens Soluciones de Diseño”. Thank you for being here, for learning about this story, and for joining this venture.
